Chart Settings
The Chart Settings page enables you to modify the configuration settings of the detailed chart. The configuration settings are grouped into blocks as follows.
Chart Displays
- Main chart type - displays a sub-menu of radio button options. Select the chart type from the available choices. The default setting is Candle.
- Display Trade Buttons - (used in portrait orientation only) tick the check box to show the trade buttons panel. The default setting is on.
- Top display area - displays a sub-menu of radio button options. Select the indicator shown below the chart when in portrait orientation. The default setting is RSI.
- Bottom display area (this setting is only active if Display Trade Buttons is disabled) - displays a sub-menu of radio button options. Select the indicator shown at the bottom of the chart replacing the trade buttons panel when in portrait orientation. The default setting is Stochastics.
- Price type - select whether to chart the Mid, Bid or Ask price.
Relative Strength Index (RSI)
Configuration settings for the RSI indicator.
- RSI period - tapping this control opens an entry field where you can enter the RSI period.
- Wilder's - tick the check box to use Welles Wilder's smoothing method. Untick the box to use the RSI calculation method.
- Use 80/20 for RSI - tick the check box to have the overbought and oversold lines at 80 and 20 respectively. Untick the box to use the standard 70/30 instead.
Simple/Exp Moving Average (MA/EMA)
Configuration settings for moving averages.
- MA/EMA - tick the check box to see moving average lines on the chart.
The following settings are only active if MA/EMA is enabled:
- Shorter MA/EMA period - tapping this control opens an entry field where you can enter the shorter MA/EMA period. The default value is 10.
- Medium MA/EMA period - tapping this control opens an entry field where you can enter the medium MA/EMA period. The default value is 20.
- Longer MA/EMA period - tapping this control opens an entry field where you can enter the longer MA/EMA period. The default value is 50.
- EMA - tick this check box to make the moving averages use exponential weighting. Untick to use simple moving averages.
Stochastic Oscillator (Stoch)
Configuration settings for the stochastic indicator.
- Fast %K - tapping this control opens an entry field where you can enter the period for the fast %K line. The default value is 14.
- Slow %K - tapping this control opens an entry field where you can enter the period for the slow %K line. The default value is 5.
- Slow %D - tapping this control opens an entry field where you can enter the period for the slow %D line. The default value is 3.
Moving Average Converg/Diverg (MACD)
Configuration settings for the MACD indicator.
- Shorter EMA period - tapping this control opens an entry field where you can enter the period for the shorter EMA. The default value is 12.
- Longer EMA period - tapping this control opens an entry field where you can enter the period for the longer EMA. The default value is 26.
- Signal line period - tapping this control opens an entry field where you can enter the period for the signal line. The default value is 9.
Colours
- Stoch/MACD Colours - tick this check box to have the background of the indicator panel coloured when the lines crossover in both the Stochastics and MACD indicators.
